Friends and family!
Well we had zone Pday today which means the missionaries in our zone
got together and had some fun games. But that took a chunk of our time
which means this will be a short email today! Our week was alright,
but we didn't meet our goals. 2 member presents and nobody at church.
Joanne who usually comes was sick with bronchitis. So she didn't come.
But she'll hopefully come next week!
We got to walk through the sacred grove too after zone Pday stuff
which was nice!
Challenge this week is to read through the scriptures for the first
vision. It's in the Pearl of Great Price. Joseph Smith History chapter
1 verses 15-20. It's so good! Let me know your insights!
Love you all!

Friends and family,
Well as for that little goal I set, we had one lesson with a member
present and one investigator at church. So progress from last week but
it's slower than I want it. However, we are finally getting some
return appointments and have met some members who we can now invite
with us and things should be picking up. We got 7 new investigators
(some who were just potential investigators as of last week and some
brand new people) and had 72 contacts. We also gave out 8 copies of
the Book of Mormon, which is a lot for this area! The average per week
the months before Elder S and I got here was like 3.
There's a lot of work to do here and we hope some of these people open
their hearts a little more. The spirit is the one who converts us,
missionaries don't do any of that. We just create an environment for
people to feel the spirit and based on how they're prompted, they then
make a choice. That choice can be to follow what they come to know is
true or they can reject the still small voice. If we go into something
determined to dismiss it, we won't grow and change. But if we go in
with an open mind and an open heart, we can allow the spirit to move
us to a better standard of living and we will accept more of God's
word.
This week's challenge is to invite the missionaries to your home. You
can do this by signing up to feed them, asking them to come over
sometime, or referring yourself on Mormon.org. You don't have to have
them in your home this week, but this week please take the opportunity
to invite them. If you invite them this week and they come next month,
that's still great. So please invite those tired rejected youngsters
like me over! :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Friends and family!
Well I'm here in Victor and my companion is Elder S! It's been
slow and there are lots of training things to do for iPads, missionary
work, etc. But things will speed up soon! We had no lessons with a
member present and nobody at church. It was a bummer but as we meet
more people those numbers will increase!
Challenge this week is to bear your testimony to someone you don't
know! Those of you who are house bugs and don't get out much will have
to get creative if you accept this challenge! Let me know of any cool
experiences you have as you do!
Have a great week!

Friends and family,
Well I'm out! I'm leaving Lewiston tomorrow and will be flushing into
a new area. Flushing is when you go into an area at the same time as
your companion, so you and he are both brand new to the area. I did
that both areas I've been in so far so it's all I've ever known. I
will also be the district leader there (leader over 8 missionaries)
and will be training a brand new missionary fresh out of the MTC
(missionary training center)! So much change in one day!
As for our goal, well this was the perfect week to end off here. We
had 7 lessons with a member present and 7 people at church! That's
like double we've ever had! I hope things only go up once I leave good
ole Lewiston!
One thing I learned from this area is people can be way too sensitive
and selfish. Haha, we all can at times so it's essential that we are
careful and fill all we say with love. If we are concerned solely for
the other person, we won't be wrong in what we say or how we say it.
But if we have our own private agenda or say it harshly, we can find
we didn't do it right. So be careful what you say and how you say it!
Challenge this week is to think of a life lesson you've learned in the
last few weeks and ponder why you learned it. It's likely you will
need to know what you just learned because something in the next few
weeks will come up. And it'll be important that you have that lesson
under your belt to successfully conquer that new obstacle. I hope that
makes as much sense here as it does in my head.
Love you all!

Friends and family,
Well this week we had 6 member present's and one at church. So we beat
our one goal and failed at our second. So progress and digress, if
that makes any sense to anyone. Here's a journal entry from this last
week, just to show you all what it's like on a more detailed level:
January 30th: Today we called a bunch of people trying to set things
up. We also had Bishop B come with us to an appointment with
Robert. Then we went to NF and stopped by some people. After we picked
up David Minor we saw Quandeka and that lesson was great! Then we saw
Johntel. Her son Jaheim was there and said Tahiem was home (we'd been
sharing messages with him) and as we walked in we found Johntel. She
wasn't super happy because her car broke and she has to take a bus to
work and school out in Buffalo area. Long trips and they're annoying.
So we lifted her spirits with a message about the restoration. Then we
stopped by Thomas and his dad had just died a day or two ago so he was
down. We shared a quick thought with him and invited him to read the
Plan of Salvation pamphlet. Then we saw Lisa and Rick. His daughter,
Sarah, was there and we taught her about the Book of Mormon and talked
about the Plan of Salvation with them. Rick said the closing prayer
and it was hilarious. He said "please bless our friends and family
that they will.......stay away for a while." And Brother M and I
just busted out laughing with Lisa and Sarah and it was so funny. Then
he continues "just kidding, we ask forgiveness" or something like
that. Haha, anyway, that was pretty much the day!
As for a challenge, share something worth journaling with me! Not a
journal entry (it can be, but it doesn't have to) but something worth
writing about! And if not me, someone else like a family member or a
close friend or a complete stranger! Love you all!
